Newport, Rhode Island – Day 10

Newport is quite a town.  We sailed in to clear skies and warm weather.  Our ship anchors off the port and we tendered into the wharf.

We walked around the old historic section of the town, while some of our group went over to see the mansions and the Tennis Hall of Fame.  We found some old homes from the 1700’s  and the historic American Flag.  Lots of the homes were getting ready for Halloween.

Our travel companion – Bear – got into the act and checked out the ornate door knockers.

And of course – we found some clam chowder.  This was a first for Becky and Carol finally tried some.  Yum. IMG_0237_131001Lots of yummy clams.

As we leave our last port and head to our last stop — New York – we saw a sailing regatta – IMG_0309_131001
